Lane Workforce Partnership commends VIM for training community members

Lane Workforce Partnership also lauds VIM for helping the uninsured

Volunteers in Medicine also was recognized 'for providing much needed medical care to over 66,000 low-income, working uninsured people in Lane County,' the partnership said. ...

"Volunteers in Medicine offers free medical care and mental health services to low-income Lane County adults who have no insurance. β€œAt the same time, it provides members of our community an opportunity to work in a health care setting without a health care background,” Lane Workforce said. That includes allowing local youth to try different jobs where they can learn various skills.

'As a volunteer-based health care provider, Volunteers in Medicine is sensitive to family issues and the importance of balancing work and life,' the partnership said.
