About Us

More than 77,000 residents of Lane County are without health insurance. When they delay needed care, their conditions become major health threats that are more costly and more difficult to treat, often in hospital emergency rooms.

Volunteers In Medicine (VIM) provides a free, comprehensive program of primary care, mental health services, prescription assistance, laboratory services, and women's health care to low-income Lane County adults who have no health insurance and are ineligible for government health care programs.

Mission Our mission is to understand and serve the health and wellness needs of the medically under-served and their households who live and work in the greater Lane County area.

Vision VIM's vision is based on a vision of caring for people in our community: "May we have eyes to see those rendered invisible and excluded, open arms and hearts to reach out and include them, healing hands to touch their lives with love, and in the process, heal ourselves."
